Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, announced this after a meeting of the bloc’s 27 foreign ministers in Luxembourg.

\”While several member states have called for sanctions against Minister Ben Gvir, no agreement was reached today,\” she remarked.

EU sanctions require unanimous approval from all member states, and a coalition of staunch Israeli allies within the bloc successfully blocked the proposal.

Calls to add Ben Gvir to an EU blacklist intensified last month after he released a video that appeared to ridicule detained pro‑Palestinian activists aboard a Gaza‑bound aid convoy. France responded by banning him from its territory and urged fellow EU members to adopt similar bloc‑wide measures.
