Accelerating Wireless Networks Through Quantum Innovation
Early trials of D-Wave’s quantum technology enabled AT&T to reduce the runtime of a network optimization process from roughly one hour to under 15 seconds. These promising results led the telecommunications giant to extend the use of D-Wave’s technology to new areas, including outage detection, network planning, and traffic management.
“The speed at which D-Wave operates challenges current limitations,” said AT&T executive Lucus Haugen. “It has the potential to help us optimize operations faster, increase efficiency, and scale real-time processes, establishing quantum computing as a practical tool for advancing how we run and modernize our network.”
Wall Street Sees Further Upside Potential
Benchmark analyst Gary Mobley maintains a buy rating on D-Wave’s shares, projecting that the quantum computing leader’s stock price could rise more than 50% to $30.
Mobley highlights that D-Wave’s focus on helping customers solve optimization challenges is enabling it to deliver a genuine “quantum advantage to users” and “solve real-world practical problems,” distinguishing it from most of its competitors.
However, Mobley cautioned that, given this groundbreaking technology remains in its early stages, investors may be best served by diversifying their portfolios across multiple quantum stocks.
