Scotland’s all-time leading try-scorer, Darcy Graham, will be absent from the autumn internationals after sustaining a bicep injury. The 29-year-old Edinburgh winger boasts an impressive record of 38 tries across 57 international caps, but will unfortunately miss the opportunity to extend that tally during the home fixtures against New Zealand, Australia, and Japan. Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt confirmed that Graham requires a minimum of 12 weeks to recover from the rupture. Reflecting on the freakish collision that caused the injury, Everitt remarked, “That’s not good news for us and not good news for him, especially with the autumn series approaching.” Scotland will proceed with their Nations Championship matches, facing New Zealand at Murrayfield on November 7, followed by clashes against Australia and Japan in Edinburgh the subsequent weekends. The inaugural series is scheduled to conclude with a finals weekend at Twickenham on November 27 and 28. Heading into the competition, Scotland secured victories over Argentina and Fiji during the summer, sandwiching a 42-28 loss to South Africa. These results currently place Gregor Townsend’s side second in the northern hemisphere standings, trailing only France.
