Dillian Whyte is poised to resume competition on a Zuffa Boxing event, with speculation intensifying about a clash against rising heavyweight Johnny Fisher. Former fighter Dave Allen, who has met both competitors, has shared his perspective on this prospective all‑British matchup.
Whyte handed Allen his initial professional loss in 2016. More recently, Allen reclaimed momentum by stopping Fisher in a contentious 2025 bout, ending the Briton’s winning streak.
Following that setback, Fisher rebounded with a knockout victory over Ivan Balaz in Monaco and subsequently announced his signing with Zuffa Boxing.
Last weekend, Fisher made his debut for Dana White’s promotion, earning a majority‑decision win over Belgium’s Michael Pirotton at London’s CopperBox Arena.
Soon after, Dillian Whyte’s manager Michael Ofo confirmed to Sky Sports that a bout between the former world‑title contender and Fisher has been agreed in principle.
“The fight was agreed in principle following Fisher’s win on Saturday night with a handshake between me and Fisher’s manager, Adam Morallee,”
“I was unsure whether Fisher and his management would take the fight, in spite of Fisher having called Dillian out, so I called Adam over and asked him. He immediately responded: ‘Absolutely. Let’s do it next!’”
In response, Allen posted on his YouTube channel, dismissing suggestions that Whyte is past his prime despite his opening‑round loss to Moses Itauma, and suggested that the veteran would likely prevail over Fisher.
“People say ‘oh, well Dillian Whyte is 30-odd, the Itauma fight…’. Dillian Whyte has got a good jab, he is tough as f**k and he has been the rounds. I wouldn’t like that fight for him [Fisher].”
Fisher has also been linked with a potential bout against former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, though the ‘Bronze Bomber’ appears set to face Oleksandr Usyk in his farewell fight.
