
During last week’s summit in Washington between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, artificial intelligence emerged as a primary point of contention between the two global powers. Days before the meeting, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent noted that both nations had agreed to initiate a formal AI dialogue, complete with an incident line, though the operational protocols remained to be finalized. Despite these steps, the summit did not produce any substantial breakthroughs or binding agreements regarding the race for AI supremacy.
