In the latest UK 100 fastest‑growing businesses list, Manchester‑based Dfyne secured the 14th position, marking it as the highest‑performing fashion retailer in the index.
The retailer was joined by seven other fashion businesses on the ranking: sportswear brand Castore (54th), contemporary label Blakely Clothing (70th), teamwear specialist Nike Team Sport (81st), maternity brand Beyond Nine (83rd), sustainable outdoor clothing brand Passenger (84th), and activewear retailer Adanola (91st).
Retail remained the second‑largest sector represented in the 2026 Growth Index, with 19 companies, up from 11 the previous year. Oresa noted that this shift reflects a move away from e‑commerce‑led disruptors toward specialist consumer brands with strong category propositions.
The report found that all seven apparel retailers specialise in activewear, outdoor clothing, or athleisure—an indication of consumers’ increasing focus on health and wellness.
The executive search firm also highlighted the growing influence of social media on consumer brands, with platforms such as TikTok accelerating growth in categories including fashion, beauty, and wellness.
Across all sectors, Growth Index companies recorded an average two‑year compound annual growth rate of 136.1%, the highest since the report’s launch in 2022. Businesses now required a yearly growth rate of more than 63% to be included in this year’s top 100.
