Fabio Di Giannantonio topped the MotoGP timesheets on Friday night at Lusail International Circuit, setting a new all-time lap record in the process. Aboard his Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team Ducati Desmosedici GP26 on specification Michelin tires, the Italian clocked a 1:50.406 to lead the 18-rider field.
The benchmark eclipsed the previous circuit best of 1:50.499, set by Marc Marquez earlier in 2025. Marquez himself was closest in pursuit, posting a 1:50.548 on the factory Ducati Lenovo Team GP26 to finish second.
Marco Bezzecchi slotted into third on the Aprilia Racing RS-GP26 with a 1:50.666, while championship contender Francesco Bagnaia took fourth on the sister factory Ducati at 1:50.792. Raul Fernandez rounded out the top five for the Trackhouse Racing Aprilia squad, stopping the clock at 1:51.014.
Jorge Martin, riding the second factory Aprilia, settled for seventh with a 1:51.041.
