AI-Driven Momentum Resurfaces

Asian equity markets established a positive tone during the overnight session.

MSCI’s Asia-Pacific index climbed nearly 1% for its fifth consecutive day of gains, with semiconductor leaders Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix contributing significantly, mirroring Monday’s strong performance in U.S. tech stocks. South Korea’s KOSPI index rose 2%, and Taiwan’s benchmark reached an intraday high.

The artificial intelligence sector continues to drive market sentiment. On Wall Street, gains followed early indicators of success surrounding Meta Platforms’ newly launched AI assistant, while AMD moves closer to achieving a $1 trillion market valuation.

Meta Platforms introduced Muse, an AI assistant designed to function across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, nearly two weeks ago. Since its launch, the application has surpassed ChatGPT to claim the top spot among free apps on Apple’s U.S. App Store. According to analytics firm Apptopia, the app has amassed nearly 3 million downloads globally and secured nearly 40% more iOS downloads in the U.S. and Canada than ChatGPT achieved in its initial 12-day period on mobile platforms.
