Regional Governor Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that twenty-seven individuals lost their lives in an overnight drone strike targeting the Kyiv region.
According to Tkachenko, forty-two others, including four children, sustained injuries in the Russian attack on the Bucha district, while three hundred eighty-one residents were evacuated.
Emergency services conducted search and rescue operations in the early hours of Saturday, meticulously inspecting damaged structures.
Tkachenko subsequently disclosed that a fourteen-year-old was killed in a separate assault in the Boryspil district, adding, “This is yet another victim of Russian terror.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky conveyed his deepest condolences to the victims’ families, noting that over three hundred emergency responders had been deployed to the affected area.
The Ukrainian president also reported additional overnight strikes hitting the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
“Ukraine cannot be alone in finding solutions to protect against such strikes, and I thank everyone who helps with additional support packages and sanctions against Russia,” Zelensky stated on Telegram.
The Ukrainian military reported intercepting two hundred thirty-three Russian unmanned aerial vehicles overnight into Saturday.
Both nations have escalated their military operations in recent months, with Ukraine increasingly targeting Russian economic infrastructure.
Over the past twenty-four hours, Moscow reported strikes on the Belgorod and Rostov regions. Rostov Governor Yuri Slusar confirmed that seven individuals were injured in the assault.
