Durham have appointed all‑rounder Kasey Aldridge as captain for the upcoming One‑Day Cup.
Aldridge, entering his first full season with Durham after transferring from Somerset, will assume the role while red‑ball and T20 skipper Alex Lees focuses exclusively on his batting.
His debut in charge comes on Tuesday against the Derbyshire Falcons, a fixture that will also feature Ben Stokes making his first appearance since relinquishing the England Test captaincy.
“Kasey joined Durham for his maiden first‑class season and, after just one pre‑session, was unanimously selected for the leadership group,” said head coach Ryan Campbell on the club’s websiteexternal.
“That’s no small feat. It demonstrates that he has instantly exhibited qualities that left our players saying ‘wow’.”
