Persistent Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries have triggered a nationwide fuel shortage.
Independent energy analysts report that Ukrainian strikes have knocked out roughly one‑third of Russia’s oil refining capacity.
The ensuing shortage has compelled Moscow to prolong its petrol export ban and limit fuel sales across over 40 regions, including Crimea.
President Putin downplays the impact of the strikes, asserting that the conflict will continue until his objectives are achieved.
Russia continues its offensive against Ukraine, highlighted by a major strike on Kyiv earlier this week.
The question remains whether mounting economic pressure on Russia can finally bring an end to a conflict now entering its fifth year.
