Eight Killed, Including Three Children, in Russian Missile and Drone Attack on Ukraine, Officials Report

Eight individuals, including three children, were killed in a Russian missile and drone strike on Ukraine, local officials reported.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia launched over 70 missiles and more than 280 drones overnight, with the most intense targeting near Kryvyi Rih, his hometown.

Zelensky emphasized that the attacks damaged or destroyed ordinary homes, civilian businesses, and critical infrastructure facilities across the region.

The assault followed Zelensky’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, where he advocated for Ukrainian access to Patriot missile-interceptor technology.

A six-year-old girl and two boys, aged 11 and 17, were among six victims when a ballistic missile struck a residential home in Radushne village, located near Kryvyi Rih, according to local defense council chief Oleksandr Vilkul.

Zelensky described the impact as devastating, noting the targeted structure was reduced to rubble. Vilkul confirmed two private residences were entirely destroyed, with an additional eight individuals injured, including an 84-year-old woman hospitalized and two children rescued from collapsed buildings.

Ukrainian authorities had anticipated the offensive, as Zelensky had issued a warning earlier that day about an impending “massive Russian attack.”

Kyiv experienced one fatality and fires in three non-residential buildings overnight, mayor Vitali Klitschko reported via Telegram.

A postal facility in Poltava also came under attack, resulting in another fatality, according to the city’s mayor.

Explosions occurred in Lviv, damaging residential structures and injuring residents trapped under debris, as mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted. Local citizens assisted emergency responders in clearing rubble.
