Eli Lilly is scheduled to release third-quarter financial results on Thursday, with performance expected to be driven by its blockbuster obesity treatment Zepbound and diabetes therapy Mounjaro.
According to analyst estimates compiled by LSEG, Wall Street is projecting the following:
- Earnings per share: $6.26
- Revenue: $22.61 billion
Investors will also be closely monitoring the commercial rollout of the company’s oral obesity medication, Foundayo, which launched in April. StreetAccount estimates forecast approximately $229 million in sales for the pill during the quarter.
Lilly’s dominance in the diabetes and obesity markets continues to widen its lead over primary rival Novo Nordisk, even as the company navigates declining net prices in the United States. The pharmaceutical giant has channeled these substantial profits into an aggressive acquisition strategy, including a July agreement to acquire a psychedelics drug developer and a May announcement outlining plans to purchase three vaccine manufacturers.
