England dominated Pakistan to secure a series win on the fourth day of the second Test at Lord’s.

After a stubborn 97‑run stand by Saud Shakeel, England bowled out the visitors for 194, sealing a 194‑run victory.

Ollie Robinson continued his impressive return to form, taking 4 for 24 on Sunday to finish with match figures of 8 for 35.

He capitalised on the sharp seam movement to wrap up a one‑sided contest, echoing England’s innings‑win at Headingley in the first Test.

Joe Root has now won his first two Tests back as captain, clinching the series with one match to spare and delivering England’s first series success since 2024.

Pakistan were set a Lord’s record chase of 389, but their realistic aim was merely to extend the match to a fifth day; their previous top score in the series was 171.

When Robinson claimed two wickets in his third over, reducing the hosts to 14 for 3, it became clear the match would finish within four days, despite earlier weather delays.

Shakeel offered some resistance, only for Robinson to strip the touring side for two wickets in successive overs, removing Shan Masood and Muhammad Rizwan.

Shakeel’s run out off Josh Tongue ended any hopes of a comeback, and Pakistan were bowled out for 194 as fading light set in.

The final Test of the series kicks off at Edgbaston on Wednesday, 9 September.
