London-based electronic trio Factory Floor has announced their return with their first full-length album in ten years, One Trip. The upcoming LP is led by the double single “Continuation” / “One Trip,” marking the band’s first release with new member Joe Ward alongside original members Nik Colk Void and Gabe Gurnsey. The group will celebrate the launch with a live performance at London’s Barbican Centre, supporting Squid, on December 5, ahead of the album’s official release on November 27.
Originally formed with Dominic Butler, who departed before the release of their second album 25 25 in 2016, Void and Gurnsey continued to explore solo projects and collaborative works on labels like Editions Mego and Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound. Phantasy Sound is also set to release the new album, following a series of preview singles.
The band made their highly anticipated comeback earlier this year at the Mutek Festival. Following their performance, they shared their excitement about reconnecting as a group, stating, “We felt an appetite to work in a space where artists could connect emotionally and physically, both in the studio and on a live stage. These environments hold more than sound; they carry a visceral energy that comes from being together. It’s something we’d really missed as solo artists, and it made us want to explore that kind of experience again.”
