South African cricket captain Faf du Plessis and his Rotterdam Dockers teammates have paused from the competitive action of the European T20 Premier League 2026 to participate in a viral dance trend initiated by actor-politician Ravi Kishan. A video featuring the former South African captain and his fellow players performing Kishan’s trending dance moves has gained significant traction on social media platforms during the ongoing tournament.

The footage was shared on X and rapidly captured the attention of cricket enthusiasts worldwide, who expressed amusement at seeing du Plessis display his dancing skills alongside his teammates amid a demanding T20 campaign. Kishan’s choreography had already achieved viral status prior to the cricketers’ involvement, and their rendition has propelled the trend to even greater heights.

Rotterdam Dockers’ ETPL 2026 Campaign

Beyond his role as captain of the Rotterdam Dockers, du Plessis serves as one of the franchise’s co-owners, joining forces with fellow South African cricketers Jonty Rhodes and Heinrich Klaasen. The Dockers compete among six teams in the league, alongside Amsterdam Flames, Edinburgh Castle Rockers, Belfast Wolves, Glasgow Cosmic, and Dublin Guardians.

Rotterdam Dockers commenced their ETPL 2026 journey with a convincing five-wicket victory over Amsterdam Flames on August 27 at Sportpark Westvliet in Voorburg, The Hague. Their subsequent fixture against Belfast Wolves on Saturday was unfortunately abandoned due to weather conditions.

The ETPL operates under a double round-robin format during the group stage, comprising 30 matches, followed by two knockout encounters, totaling 32 matches throughout the tournament. The group stage leader secures direct qualification for the final. The competition features several prominent franchise owners, including Rahul Dravid (Dublin Guardians), Glenn Maxwell and Rohan Lund (Belfast Wolves), and Matthew Hayden and Chris Gayle (Glasgow Cosmic).

Each team has competed in two matches thus far. Edinburgh Castle Rockets, led by Mitchell Santner, currently top the standings after securing a seven-wicket victory over Glasgow Cosmics in their opening game. Their most recent match was also abandoned.
