At least 35 people were killed and 30 others were injured when two buses collided in eastern Syria.
The crash occurred on Saturday on a highway connecting Damascus with Deir al-Zour province.
What Else Do We Know About the Crash?
The Interior Ministry reported that one bus carried security personnel, while the other transported civilians.
State television footage captured one vehicle engulfed in flames following the impact.
Military helicopters were deployed to the location to facilitate medical evacuations and recover casualties.
The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The highway is notorious as the “road of death” due to its history of frequent and lethal accidents.
