Lopez dismisses transfer talk

Manchester United target Fermin Lopez has ruled out leaving Barcelona in the foreseeable future.

The Spanish midfielder has been instrumental for the Catalan club, recording six goals and six assists across 13 appearances this season.

While his performances have reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United, Lopez has affirmed his full commitment to the reigning Spanish champions.

The 23-year-old stated that he ignores unfounded transfer speculation and hopes to conclude his career wearing a Barcelona shirt.

He said: “I don’t pay attention to that kind of news. I want to stay here at Barça as long as possible… and I hope to end my football career at this club and to retire in a Barcelona shirt.”

Lopez’s stance is a significant setback for Manchester United, who had viewed him as a potential long-term successor to Bruno Fernandes in the number 10 position.

United may now need to explore alternative options in attacking midfield.
