The Gironde fire has moved to the edge of Bordeaux, Mayor Thomas Cazenave said in an interview with Sud Ouest on Saturday. He noted that while the fire is drawing nearer, its strength has eased somewhat thanks to increased humidity. In response, authorities have evacuated portions of the city’s western suburbs, including the airport zone, as a precaution; the airport, however, remains operational, Cazenave added.
