KARACHI: First Lady and Member of National Assembly Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari visited Spencer Eye Hospital on Tuesday, where she engaged with patients and received a briefing on the facility’s initiatives to broaden eye care services in the Lyari area.
Accompanied by Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the First Lady was presented with a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s operations and current projects aimed at enhancing access to quality ophthalmic care for local residents.
During her visit, she met with patients receiving treatment, listened to their concerns, and had a conversation with an elderly woman who had recently undergone cataract surgery. She also commended the medical staff for their dedication and performance.
Mayor Wahab announced that the hospital’s operation theatres are scheduled to become fully operational by next month, which will significantly improve the facility’s capacity to deliver specialized eye care services. He emphasized that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), in collaboration with a welfare organization, remains dedicated to providing accessible healthcare services to the public.
The mayor also expressed gratitude to Ms. Bhutto-Zardari for her visit and ongoing support in strengthening healthcare services in Lyari.
