Raymond Wong Chan-fai, 55, told Chief Magistrate Victor So Wai-tak during mitigation on Tuesday that he had penned offensive messages targeting police, judges, and mainland Chinese residents, and threw them from his window to relieve stress.
He stated that he had no seditious intent when distributing the papers from his 13th‑floor flat at On Tat Estate in Kwun Tong.
His lawyer noted that Wong had lost his full‑time position and subsequently worked part‑time after the 2019 anti‑government protests and the pandemic.
According to his lawyer, Wong had accumulated resentment but lacked the ability to control his anger.
The court heard that the defendant’s messages called for the murder of police officers, judges, and mainland residents.
