AJ Styles briefly returned to the ring over the weekend to assist his son.
The retired WWE Hall of Famer made a surprise appearance at an Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment event, where his son Avery Styles was facing Jones in competition.
After the match, Avery was targeted by a post‑match assault until his father entered the ring and intervened, stopping the situation from worsening.
This rare return to the squared circle for Styles, who concluded his in‑ring career with a match against Gunther at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble, saw him remain with WWE in a backstage role and serve as a coach and mentor for NXT talent.
Avery debuted professionally in June and later appeared on TNA iMPACT in August, confirming his signing with the promotion.
His first official TNA match is set for Bound For Glory on October 11, where he will compete in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet; the victor will receive a future championship opportunity.
AJ Styles made a surprise appearance tonight at Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment saving Avery Styles from a post-match beatdown!
