Triple H frequently becomes the target of criticism due to his position as WWE’s Chief Content Officer and the public face of the creative division.
When fans express dissatisfaction with a booking choice, match, or storyline, Triple H is often the one who bears the brunt of the backlash. However, former WWE talent Karrion Kross argues that not every unpopular creative decision can be pinned on him.
Triple H Not Solely Responsible for WWE Creative Choices, According to Former Star
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Kross—who was released from WWE in 2025—suggested that the presence of new decision‑makers has diluted Triple H’s control over the creative process. While he remains the head of creative, he is no longer the final authority on every storyline.
Kross hinted that these “new players” might include the TKO group.
“If I had to guess, there are people who bring ideas to the table, and he has to make the best of what they want to see on television and the pay‑per‑views. That’s just my guess, based on pattern recognition. It’s become especially common with Gen Z audiences—when you’re creating episodic content with continuity, a break in that continuity triggers a red flag, and people start asking, ‘What happened here?’ Especially in wrestling,”
“Now that there are new voices involved, when continuity fails and fans dislike it, it pulls them out of the suspension of disbelief. I don’t think that’s his fault. He has his own patterns that aligned with what the audience wanted, and I speak as someone who worked for him. I knew when he could call all his shots and when he couldn’t. To me, this appears to be a situation where he can’t call all the shots, and I don’t mean that disrespectfully at all.”
After leaving WWE, Karrion Kross transitioned to the independent circuit, performing under the ring name Killer Kross.
