A French administrative court has ordered the town hall of Vaulx-en-Velin, a suburb of Lyon, to remove a Palestinian flag from its facade, ruling that displaying the flag violated the principle of neutrality required of public services, reports Anadolu.

The Lyon administrative court, acting on an urgent request by the Rhône prefect, mandated the flag’s immediate removal and imposed a fine of 100 euros ($117) for each day of non‑compliance.

The Palestinian flag was hoisted on 4 July during a municipal ceremony and was displayed alongside the French and European flags.
