‘The Big Money Show’ panel debates whether Walmart’s sweeping price cuts are driven by competition, consumer demand or President Donald Trump’s economic agenda as the retail giant slashes prices on thousands of items.
President Donald Trump on Sunday praised Giant Eagle for lowering prices on more than 300 frequently purchased products through Labor Day.
The grocery chain launched the seasonal promotion on July 9, reducing prices by an average of 10% on proteins, produce and summer snacks.
Trump emphasized the significance of the cuts, stating, “the grocery chain will be cutting prices ‘by a lot.'”

Giant Eagle’s promotion coincides with Walmart and Sam’s Club’s summer price reductions, which include ground beef, beverages, household essentials, apparel and toys.

“Other Grocery Chains must follow Giant Eagle and Walmart’s lead in reducing costs for families,” Trump urged. “This unity will strengthen America and combat the inflation caused by the Biden Administration.”
