Giants’ Jaxson Dart Suffers Knee Injury on Opening Drive Against Rams

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustained a left leg injury on the seventh play of Monday night’s contest against the Los Angeles Rams. The injury occurred with 11:20 remaining in the first quarter after Dart was caught between Rams defenders Josaiah Stewart and Byron Young.

Young delivered a high hit that propelled Dart into Stewart, whose leg made contact with Dart’s left knee. Dart remained down on the field clutching his knee following an incomplete pass before eventually limping to the sideline medical tent for evaluation. He subsequently walked slowly to the training room for further assessment.

Prior to the injury, Dart had completed 3 of 5 passes for 20 yards. Veteran quarterback Jameis Winston entered the game to lead the Giants’ second offensive series.
