Giants Secure Jameis Winston With Two‑Year, $13 Million Extension

Jameis Winston’s infectious personality brightens every setting he enters, including the New York Giants’ quarterback room.

The Giants have agreed to a two‑year, $13 million extension that keeps Winston with the team through the 2028 season, according to NorthJersey.com. At 32, he will stay in New York as the primary backup and mentor to starting quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Last season, Winston started two games for New York while Dart was sidelined with injury. He completed 37 of 65 passes for 567 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, and added seven rushing attempts for 23 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Off the field, Winston enjoyed a memorable summer as a FOX Sports World Cup correspondent during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He covered fan traditions, visited host cities, and reported on matchday atmospheres across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, all the way to the final.

Originally the first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft, Winston spent five seasons in Tampa Bay, three with the New Orleans Saints, and one with the Cleveland Browns.

Winston joined the Giants in 2025, and his positive influence in the locker room has now been recognized with this extension, which covers the final year of his previous contract.
