Global Payments (GPN) delivered a solid Q2 2026 earnings call, highlighting progress in integrating Worldpay, accelerating adoption of its Genius platform, and navigating macro challenges. The SMB, Enterprise, and Platforms segments demonstrated resilience, with Genius driving notable sales growth. Despite a 400-basis point headwind from the Middle East conflict, adjusted net revenue grew 4%, and operating margins expanded by 70 basis points. Free cash flow conversion improved sequentially, and the company remains on track to meet its $2 billion capital return commitment for 2026.
Integrating Worldpay has unlocked operational efficiencies, including a streamlined leadership structure, a consolidated technology architecture, and a simplified three-segment go-to-market model. These steps aim to enhance agility and accelerate product innovation. In SMB, Genius adoption surged, with a 25% sequential increase in bookings and a 75% YoY rise in new customer yields. Retailers like Pier 1 Imports and Pollo Tropical adopted Genius, underscoring its role as a modern, AI-enabled payment solution.
Enterprise segment performance remained strong despite economic headwinds, with adjusted net revenue up 7% YoY. Key wins included expansions with Shangri La Hotels, IG Group, and Careem. Platforms grew 10% in volume, driven by embedded payment solutions, while Platforms BaaS revenue increased 25% due to fraud management and payout services. AI continues to play a central role, with Agentic Commerce pilots and optimized fraud-detection technologies enhancing payment performance.
Full-year guidance was moderated to 4-5% adjusted net revenue growth due to persistently elevated travel sector impacts from the Middle East conflict. However, executives remain optimistic about margin expansion (targeting 150 basis points), renewed Genius momentum, and disciplined capital returns. Free cash flow conversion is projected to exceed 90% for 2026, supporting buybacks and dividends.
