We have a packed racing card on Wednesday featuring flat races from Bath, Lingfield, Yarmouth, and Uttoxeter, all available to watch live on Sky Sports Racing…
6.40 Yarmouth – In-form duo Gorgeous Mr George and Dion Baker set for duel
Gorgeous Mr George, ridden to prominence by trainer Dylan Cunha, is in peak form following wins on his last two visits to Yarmouth. A four-pound weight increase may not stand in his way as he chases a potential hat-trick.
Dion Baker, who has won five of his last six races, remains a strong contender. Although rated higher previously, his recent performance suggests he can still excel over this course and distance.
Three-year-olds Tryst and Up The Agenda make competitive entries, alongside James Owen’s Sea Suite, which carries beneficial track-form advantages.
7.20 Lingfield – Huscal and Classic Encounter headline elite field
George Boughey enters topweight favorite Classic Encounter, who secured his third career win at Redcar in June and was narrowly beaten by half a length at the same track last month. Ridden by in-form jockey Billy Loughnane, he poses a significant threat.
Desert Shadow, still an apprentice after ten starts, shows promise having finished second to Classic Encounter in a prior engagement. His improved position here could yield a competitive run.
Huscal, though recently placing third at Newbury, benefits from a one-pound weight reduction, making him a viable option.
Great Chieftain, previously competitive at Meydan in January, may struggle to replicate that form after a clear defeat at Newmarket in April.
3.18 Uttoxeter – Sunray Shadow and Samuel Spade to contest novices’ chase
Dan Skelton’s Sunray Shadow, having achieved a hat-trick of wins in May and June, faces pressure after a third-place finish here just eight days prior. His experience over larger obstacles remains a positive.
Samuel Spade, who showed promise in his penultimate race by placing fifth in the Summer Cup here last month, continues to be a contender for further success.
Sony Bill, newly acquired by trainer Faye Bramley, makes a cautious debut under handler Harry Cobden and warrants monitoring in the betting.
Nicky Henderson’s The Pinsonniere rounds out the field.
