Gorillaz has announced that their immersive ‘House of Kong’ exhibition will open in New York for a limited run.
The exhibition, which debuted in London last year, offers fans a behind‑the‑scenes look at 25 years of the band’s history, artwork, music and mythology.
Described as a chance to “peek behind the curtain into the unseen world of Gorillaz,” the hour‑long experience guides visitors through the story of the band and its Kong Studios universe.
The New York edition will be housed at the Agger Fish Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, running from September 1 through September 28.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, June 30, with prices starting at $50. Fans who purchased a Kong Card by June 25 receive presale access starting Monday, June 29.
The New York run follows the exhibition’s original staging at London’s Copper Box Arena, part of the band’s 25th‑anniversary celebrations. The London show featured live performances of ‘Demon Days’ and ‘Plastic Beach’ and premiered new material that later appeared on the band’s ninth studio album, ‘The Mountain.’
‘The Mountain,’ released earlier this year on Gorillaz’s KONG label, includes collaborations with Sparks, IDLES, Omar Souleyman, Johnny Marr and posthumous contributions from former Gorillaz partners such as Bobby Womack and Dennis Hopper. NME awarded the album four stars, calling it “arguably their most rich and complete since ‘Plastic Beach’” and praising its celebratory themes.
Gorillaz recently performed their first stadium show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, accompanied by a roster of guests including Marr, Little Simz, Shaun Ryder, Yasiin Bey, Black Thought and Gruff Rhys. A documentary capturing the event is reportedly in development.
The band will bring ‘The Mountain’ tour to Madison Square Garden on September 29, the day after the New York exhibition closes. Further tour dates include their first ever shows in India, scheduled for January 2027.
