Noah Gragson has been involved in multiple on-track incidents recently, most notably sparking a viral post-race confrontation with former F1 driver Kevin Magnussen in San Diego and sending Cody Ware spinning at Sonoma following a dispute with the Rick Ware Racing driver.
At Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Gragson found himself in another altercation, this time with Trachouse Racing driver Connor Zilisch.
Onboard footage shows Zilisch defending against Gragson before a green-flag pit stop sequence. After his pit stop, Zilisch rejoined the track directly in front of Gragson, then moved to the inside while racing down the backstretch to maintain position.

“Motherf*****,” Gragson radioed just before attempting to dive underneath Zilisch, who was still accelerating. As Zilisch blocked him on the backstretch, Gragson hit the rear of the No. 88 and continued to nudge it into Turn 3. Zilisch kept control while Gragson slid up the track.
During the first caution period, Gragson pulled alongside Zilisch and opened his door, then moved to the other side of the car and extended a middle finger in a clear display of displeasure.
“Tell the No. 88 driver to stop blocking,” Gragson radioed. The team responded: “10-4. I see it. Big picture here, man.”
Meanwhile, Zilisch’s team cautioned him about the altercation as he approached under caution, urging him not to engage and to stay clear of the No. 21.
Zilisch replied: “I’m not the one running into him.”
Running 32nd and 33rd at the time, the incident seemed to be the final straw for the day. Zilisch later retired from the race due to an unrelated mechanical issue, while Gragson finished 22nd.
Both drivers will have time to cool off, as the NASCAR Cup Series now enters its final off-weekend of the 2026 season before a 14-race stretch to close the year.
