Pot one includes Premier League sides Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, together with recent Champions League victors Paris Saint‑Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Aston Villa and Manchester United, both making their return to the Champions League after missing last season’s competition, are placed in pot two alongside Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting CP, Porto, Club Brugge, Real Betis and PSV Eindhoven.

Pot three comprises Feyenoord, Lille, Bodo/Glimt, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.

Pot four is made up of Slavia Prague, VfB Stuttgart, LASK, Como, Lens, Sabah, AEK Athens, Slovan Bratislava and Viking.
