The Women’s Senior Selection Committee has announced the India Women’s squad for the 2026 Asian Games, confirming Harmanpreet Kaur will continue as captain. Smriti Mandhana retains her role as vice-captain and premier batter. The team enters the tournament as defending champions, having secured gold at the previous edition.
The batting unit features established names Jemimah Rodrigues and all-rounder Shafali Verma, while Bharti Fulmali is expected to provide finishing power. Senior all-rounder Deepti Sharma remains a vital cog with both bat and ball.
Shreyanka Patil has been included, though her participation hinges on securing fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence, where she is currently rehabilitating from the injury sustained during the T20 World Cup. Top-ranked WT20I bowler NR Shree Charani and spinner Nandni Sharma complete the spin department.
Richa Ghosh and Gunalan Kamalini have been named as the wicketkeeping options, with Ghosh the primary choice. The selection sees Yastika Bhatia omitted from the squad that featured in the recent T20 World Cup, while Kamalini earns a recall following an injury layoff.
