TRICON Garage has announced that Harrison Burton, son of NASCAR veteran Jeff Burton, will drive the team’s No. 5 Chevrolet Silverado this weekend at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) as part of the ongoing NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.
Burton currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Sam Hunt Racing. With victories in both the Cup and Xfinity divisions, the 25-year-old has not contested a Truck Series event since 2020. He brings 40 career Truck starts to the table, accumulating 11 top-five and 18 top-10 finishes. Despite his extensive experience, Burton is still seeking his first victory at the Truck level, though he has achieved six third-place finishes and earned one pole position.
This season, TRICON has utilized multiple drivers in its No. 5 entry, including Corey Heim, Graham Doyle, Adam Andretti, Spencer Davis, William Sawalich, and Chase Briscoe. Burton’s return marks a notable addition to the lineup as the team continues to evaluate talent across the schedule.
For Burton, this weekend represents a homecoming of sorts. He launched his NASCAR career in the Truck Series and ran full-time in 2019. Following a successful four-win campaign in the Xfinity Series in 2020, he advanced to the Cup Series with the Wood Brothers Racing organization. Most recently, he secured a Cup Series victory in the 2024 Daytona race, adding another milestone to his growing résumé.
At IRP, Burton will join forces with teammates Kaden Honeycutt, Tanner Gray, Gio Ruggiero, and Gavan Boschele, who will be making his Truck Series debut. The event promises competitive action on the high-banked oval as teams battle for crucial championship points.
