BOYS SOCCER — Division II
Judah Schackner Westerly boys soccer
Westerly 4, North Providence 3
Westerly secured a resilient come-from-behind victory over North Providence, overcoming two separate one-goal deficits to earn the win. Judah Schackner put the Bulldogs ahead just one minute into the match, but North Providence responded with two goals — Jeronimo Grajales and Jonathan Fontalvo — to seize a 2-1 lead. Adrian Gencarelli equalized before halftime, finishing off a cross from Anthony French to level the score at 2-2.
The Cougars reclaimed the lead in the 60th minute thanks to another goal from Grajales, but Westerly answered two minutes later as Schackner intercepted a pass on the left side and netted his second goal of the evening to tie the game.
The decisive marker came in the 69th minute when Aaron Wu volleyed a ball that deflected off a defender and looped over the goalkeeper. Schackner finished with two goals, while Gencarelli and Wu each added one. Asa Mayo recorded five saves for Westerly, snapping a difficult stretch and boosting playoff aspirations. Noah Roy delivered a standout defensive performance in the Bulldogs’ win.
BOYS SOCCER — Division III
Middletown 4, Burrillville 1
Avery Sodeberg scored twice and provided assists on tallies by Hugo Lyman and Diego Alban as the Islanders defeated the Broncos. Middletown improves its record to 9-3.
Jeshua Torres scored the lone goal for a Burrillville team that now sits at 3-7-1.

Chariho entered halftime with a 2-1 lead, but North Kingstown stepped up the pressure in the final 15 minutes, earning four corners, and tied the game with 12 minutes remaining when Reagan Farrell scored off a header from a corner kick. June Merchant netted the other goal for North Kingstown, while Riley Palumbo made five saves in goal. Chariho’s goals were scored by Juliana Almeida and Morgan Gearon. Dylan Whitman and Finley Campbell each recorded an assist. Goalkeeper Savana Debont-Fitzgerald stopped seven shots.
GIRLS SOCCER — Division II
Westerly 3, Middletown 1
Sienna Mathieu scored two goals in the first half and Giuliano Jarret added an insurance marker in the second frame as the Bulldogs defeated the Islanders. Phoebe Brennan collected three saves for Westerly. Isabella Wheeler and Alyssa Fizzano were credited with assists in the victory.
Hannah Nerdy scored Middletown’s solitary goal in the second half, and goaltender Sadie Moloney recorded seven saves in the loss.

Peyton Winn spearheaded the victory (25-20, 15-25, 25-16, 25-23) for the Patriots on their home court with 10 kills, three blocks, six digs and two aces. Addie Rowe contributed six kills, a block and two digs, while Paige Costa added three aces and 11 digs. For the Huskies, Stella Hill recorded five aces, seven kills, an assist, seven digs and a block. Margaret Thorp finished with six aces, 14 kills and 10 digs.
Coventry 3, Chariho 0
The Oakers were led by Kelsey Nuttin, who finished with 11 kills and 12 digs, while Christina Fernberg added 10 kills and three aces. Mia Saillant filled the stat sheet with 28 assists, four kills, four aces, seven digs and a block in the victory (25-16, 25-23, 25-17).
For the Chargers, Abby Tiernan contributed two aces, eight assists and five digs, while Rosie Sposato added an ace and three kills.
Riley Fogarty Barrington girls volleyball
Barrington 3, Cumberland 2
Barrington outlasted Cumberland in a five-set battle, 25-8, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-10, on Thursday night.
Riley Fogarty paced the Eagles with 11 kills, 10 digs and three aces, while Charlotte Farrell added nine kills, three solo blocks and three block assists. Skyler Roloff chipped in nine kills, two aces and four digs in the hard-fought win.
Cumberland was led by Darryl Ashilaka, who recorded 16 kills, 10 digs and two aces. Alexa Ditommasso also reached double figures in kills with 10 for the Clippers in the five-set defeat.
East Providence 3, South Kingstown 1
Capitalizing on the play of Caroline Congur (16 assists, three aces, two kills) and Audrey Bernard (7 kills, two blocks), the Townies defeated the Rebels, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15, 25-19.
Despite the loss, SK had strong performances from Shannon Mcgarty (12 kills, 12 digs and an ace), Lila Moffit (four aces, eight kills and eight digs) and Izzy O’rourke (four aces, 10 digs and nine assists).
Svea Crawford, Westerly girls volleyball
Westerly 3, East Greenwich 0
Svea Crawford led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, four aces and four digs, while Ella Reyes added six kills and two blocks. Gemma Fusaro also contributed six kills and two blocks in the victory (25-16, 25-9, 25-21).
For East Greenwich, Lena Wolfson recorded five kills and five digs, and Sarah Nula chipped in three aces and three digs.
Classical 3, Cranston West 0
Amayah Womack was a force at the net with 17 kills, eight aces and eight digs, helping the Purple sweep the Falcons, 25-23, 25-18, 25-19. Also contributing to the victory were Marlowe Castille with 15 assists, three aces and two kills and Dara Agramonte with 11 assists, two kills and seven digs.
For CW in the loss, Olivia Baker recorded six kills and Emily Kodzis had four aces and 12 digs.

The Division II Islanders received strong contributions from Francesca Vidotto (eight aces, three kills), Nour Chamseddine (four aces, five kills) and Alieah Castaneda (seven aces, two kills and four digs) as they swept the Cavaliers, 25-12, 25-16, 25-17.
