In an emotional farewell to boxing, Katie Taylor, the Irish icon, delivered a dominant performance against Flora Pili in her final career fight at a sold-out Croke Park on Saturday.
The 40-year-old secured a unanimous decision victory to claim the vacant WBC super-lightweight belt, cementing her legacy as a three-time undisputed world champion before 84,000 fans at Dublin’s historic sporting home.
Taylor, an Olympic champion and two-weight undisputed champion, retires widely regarded as the greatest female boxer in history and a transformative pioneer for women’s sport.
With this win, Taylor concludes her professional career with a record of 26-1, having suffered her only loss to Chantelle Cameron in May 2023.
