On Sunday morning, a flight bound for Okinawa returned to Hong Kong airport after authorities suspected a fault with the landing gear failing to fully retract following takeoff.
Hong Kong Airlines announced that the crew of flight HX676, which departed at 8:57 am, opted to return to the base in adherence to standard safety procedures.
The airline confirmed that the aircraft encountered a suspected issue with incomplete landing gear retraction shortly after departure.
The plane landed safely at 10 am with no reported injuries. Hong Kong Airlines quickly organized an alternative flight for the 160 passengers, causing a delay of approximately two and a half hours.
