The Houston Dash announced Tuesday that they have signed veteran midfielder Danny Colaprico to a new contract.
The agreement with the 33‑year‑old Colaprico extends through the 2027 NWSL season, with a mutual option for 2028.
“Danny has embraced what we are building in Houston and brings a level of experience and perspective that is extremely valuable to our group. She understands what it takes to compete in this league and is willing to share that knowledge with the players around her. Her ability to read the game, manage moments and set a standard in our daily environment makes her an important part of what we are building in Houston.” – Dash president Angela Hucles Mangano
Since joining the Dash before the 2025 campaign, Colaprico has contributed two assists in 47 matches, starting 45 of them. Earlier this season she also became only the fourth player in league history to reach 200 career starts.
Colaprico added, “Having spent almost two full seasons with the club, I’ve seen the commitment across the group and the work that goes into creating this new identity for the organization. I truly believe we can accomplish something special in Houston, and I look forward to sharing my experience and doing my part to help this team succeed.”
Over her NWSL career she has netted five goals and recorded 13 assists in 235 matches, starting 212 of them, across the Chicago Red Stars (2015‑22), San Diego Wave (2023‑24) and Houston.
Colaprico, a first‑round draft pick of Chicago, was named 2015 NWSL Rookie of the Year and earned Second XI honors in each of three consecutive seasons from 2015 to 2017. She contributed to San Diego’s victories in the 2023 NWSL Shield and the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup.
