ICC World Cup 2027 Tickets On Sale: A Record‑Breaking 15 Million Applications Subscribed
The ICC ODI World Cup 2027 is approaching, yet ticket demand continues to surge well before official commencement.
The countdown to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 has generated unprecedented enthusiasm, with supporters securing more than 15 million tickets within just twelve days of the ballot launch.
ICC chief announced receipt of 4,423,417 ballot entries that cover 15,083,752 tickets, marking the 14th edition of cricket’s premier 50‑over competition. Hosts are South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, while interest spans interests from supporters across 142 nations.
United Kingdom Leads Global Ticket Demand
The United Kingdom leads the global ticket demand trail, followed by South Africa, India, the United States and Australia. The rapid rise—from one million applications last week to over fifteen million in less than two weeks—underscores the event’s worldwide appeal.
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta highlighted the surge as reflecting the tournament’s prestige, Africa’s growing status as a host destination, and the council’s robust promotional outreach. With roughly a year remaining until the start, the ICC is launching comprehensive marketing efforts, digital content packages, and fan‑engagement activities to sustain excitement.
How the World Cup Ticket Ballot Operates
The ballot remains open until 23:59 Central African Time on 21 November. Entry is free; no payment is required. Each participant may register once per match and indicate interest in multiple fixtures. Because allocations differ by competition, applications exceeding a match’s limit are resolved via a random drawing. All applicants—whether ultimately selected or not—will receive confirmation via their registered email, after which ticket purchase instructions are issued to successful entrants.
When demand surpasses a match’s available slots, winners are determined by a randomized selection process. Independent of outcome, both successful and unsuccessful candidates will be contacted by email. Those chosen subsequently receive detailed guidance on how to acquire their tickets.
