VIENNA — UN nuclear watchdog inspectors conducted verification visits across multiple sites in Syria during August, as detailed in a confidential report distributed to member states and reviewed by The Associated Press.

Following the visit, the International Atomic Energy Agency stated it could confirm that former Syrian authorities neglected to report nuclear material, facilities, and activities as mandated by the NPT Safeguards Agreement.

The reported data also identified a nuclear reactor under construction in Deir el-Zour, a fuel fabrication facility, and a separate site utilized for fuel storage during the tenure of former President Bashar Assad.
