IDF Opens Paran Brigade Hiking Routes for Holiday Visitors

Route 10 in the Paran Regional Brigade sector, near the western border, will be open to hikers for the holidays beginning Friday, the IDF announced.

During Rosh Hashanah, the route between Ezuz and Har Harif will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The section between the Bar-Lev Lookout and the 10/12 Checkpoint will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

For Sukkot, the Ezuz-to-Har Harif section will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 25. The area between the Bar-Lev Lookout and the 10/12 Checkpoint will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from September 26 through October 3.

Hikers entering the routes must present an ID card and register at the entrance. Advance coordination is not required.

The IDF noted that live-fire training exercises in the south and north will continue over the weekends, and those areas will remain closed to hikers.

The public is urged to stay out of restricted areas so security forces can continue carrying out their missions.
