DUBAI: Dutch‑Moroccan‑Egyptian model Imaan Hammam, a long‑standing favorite of the fashion industry, received birthday tributes from peers and designers. Among the well‑wishers were models Winnie Harlow, Jourdan Dunn and supermodel Christy Turlington, as well as designer Jeremy Scott and others.
The model also got a gift from Riyadh‑based label JAY3LLE, founded by Princess Noura bint Faisal Al‑Saoud, who serves as CEO, together with Swedish creative director Johan Lindeberg. Hammam shared a handwritten note that accompanied the JAY3LLE apparel on her Instagram Stories.
Hammam, born in the Netherlands to a Moroccan mother and an Egyptian father, burst onto the scene after her runway debut at Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture show in 2013. She opened a Givenchy show at age 17 and landed her first Vogue cover before turning 18, quickly becoming one of the industry’s most recognizable faces.
Since then she has walked for leading houses such as Prada, Burberry, Fendi, Balenciaga and Carolina Herrera, and appeared in campaigns for Chanel, Versace, Givenchy and Tiffany & Co.
On Oct. 5, Hammam celebrated her 30th birthday, prompting a wave of birthday wishes on social media. In addition to the models and designers mentioned, Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, Jordanian‑Palestinian singer Zeyne and actress Amber Valletta also paid tribute.
Her recent runway work has continued to cement her status. In September she participated in Vogue World: Milano, wearing a vibrant Versace catsuit printed with Vogue covers, opening the event’s third act with models Ida Heiner and Amelia Gray. Earlier, in June, she appeared at Jacquemus’ “Le Bonheur” show in Corsica, modelling an all‑white ensemble against a Mediterranean backdrop.
Beyond modelling, Hammam uses her platform to celebrate her North African heritage and promote regional creatives. In 2025 she launched the archival project Ayni, which highlights significant contributions to Arab film, art, music and literature.
With roughly 1.8 million Instagram followers, Hammam maintains a global audience that follows both her professional achievements and personal moments.
