India defeated host Zimbabwe by 90 runs in the second T20I at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday, July 25, clinching the T20I series. The Men in Blue secured their first-ever series under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer with a match in hand.

Ishan Kishan’s dynamic batting propelled the visiting side to a formidable 219 in the first innings, a total comfortably defended through an outstanding bowling performance, notably from impact players Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube, and Tilak Varma.

I thought 180-200 would be par score but we ended up getting 220 which was the icing on the cake. That’s how you have to approach the game, it’s about the attitude. Be in the present and try to execute. One of our players got injured unfortunately so you might see a few changes tomorrow.”

“Obviously when you get runs for your team you end up getting a good total. I did not feel that the wicket was where you can just go and score runs. There was the odd bounce for few deliveries so we felt we needed partnerships. You don’t have to think about wickets, past is past and just see what bowlers you can target. Very happy to see them, Mayank, Yash and Prince. They have great stories behind their success. Good to see them and have them around.”
