Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 19, while wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh provided a blistering finish, unleashing an unbeaten 49 off 22 balls (six fours, three sixes) to propel India to 216/3.
Deepti Sharma leads India’s bowling attack
Sri Lanka’s chase got off to a disastrous start as Chamari Athapaththu was dismissed for 29 off 21 balls, with Shafali Verma claiming the key wicket. A cascading collapse followed as India’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout. Deepti Sharma was the standout, conceding only six runs from four overs while taking three wickets, including a maiden. Verma chipped in with 2/3, and Shreyanka Patil delivered a stunning 2/9. Sri Lanka never managed a meaningful partnership and were bowled out for 69, sealing a comprehensive 147-run victory and a golden campaign for India.
