In the 70th minute of the Herons’ match against Montreal, Berterame collided hard with defender Efrain Morales during an aerial challenge and landed awkwardly on the ground. He lay motionless for several minutes while receiving immediate medical care before being placed on a stretcher and taken to an awaiting ambulance.
On Sunday, Inter Miami issued an official statement with an optimistic prognosis: “Berterame is doing well. He was discharged from the hospital today and is returning home after a night of observation at Montreal General Hospital.”
The club confirmed that the Mexico international suffered a left‑shoulder and nasal injury from the impact, and he is now beginning rehabilitation under the direct supervision of Inter Miami’s medical staff.
