Three individuals, including a 13-year-old, have been hospitalized following the incident. The adults sustained serious injuries and were treated at the Nice University Hospital, while the minor remains in stable condition at a children’s hospital in Nice.
Local authorities indicate the attack targeted Vadym Yermolaiev, his partner, and their son.
Yermolaiev, 58, is a prominent real estate developer based in Monaco, holding Cypriot citizenship after renouncing his Ukrainian nationality in 2019. He has been involved in the wine and alcohol sector in the Russian-annexed Crimea and has faced sanctions from Kyiv since 2023.
Forbes magazine listed him as Ukraine’s 39th wealthiest individual in 2020, with an estimated fortune of $230 million at the time.
