Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, cautioned the United States against issuing threats to the Islamic Republic, asserting that “our armed forces are prepared to respond.”
“There is no belief that any threats will alter the current state of urgency,” said Ghalibaf, Parliament Speaker, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that Iran would be struck again over its support for Hezbollah.
He warned Americans to exercise restraint: “Our armed forces stand ready to respond in other ways. Regardless of their rhetoric, we will take action.”
Earlier that Sunday, Trump posted on Truth Social that Iran must cease supporting its “highly paid proxies” in Lebanon and threatened further action: “If they don’t stop, we’ll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!”
The ongoing clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, driven by Tehran-backed militants, have repeatedly jeopardized regional stability.
