The Iranian Health Ministry said on Wednesday that at least 35 civilians have been killed and more than 300 injured in recent US attacks on southern Iran, Anadolu reports.
Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour announced on platform X that the assaults resulted in 35 fatalities and over 300 injuries, among them women and children.
He noted that the provinces of Hormozgan, Sistan‑Baluchestan and Khuzestan suffered the greatest damage.
In another operation, U.S. strikes hit three sites in the southwestern Iranian city of Bushehr early Wednesday, causing no reported casualties, according to the province’s governor and Fars News Agency.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump warned that U.S. strikes on Iran would continue and increase, announcing that power plants and bridges in the country would be targeted next week unless Tehran resumed negotiations.
Since early Sunday, the United States has launched daily strikes against multiple Iranian cities and islands, asserting that the actions were retaliation for Tehran’s attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
On Tuesday evening, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the reinstatement of a naval blockade against Iran.
In retaliation, Iran has targeted what it describes as U.S. military installations in Arab nations; however, some of those countries reported civilian deaths and damage to civilian infrastructure caused by the Iranian strikes.
The escalation persists despite a Pakistan‑brokered memorandum of understanding intended to de‑escalate tensions between Washington and Tehran and achieve a durable peace settlement.
Iran has submitted a letter to the United Nations accusing the United States of breaching the memorandum of understanding.
