DUBAI, Oct 4 (Reuters) – Iran’s Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned, and the government has named Hamid Bovard, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, as acting minister, according to state media. No explanation was given for the departure.
Paknejad, who has served as Iran’s oil minister since August 2024, steps down amid heightened economic strain caused by the ongoing seven‑month conflict with the United States.
President Pezeshkian has accepted Paknejad’s resignation and appointed Hamid Bovard as acting oil minister, an official in the president’s office said, according to state media.
In a prior statement, Paknejad told state media that “the revenues from oil sales continue to flow and will do so, God willing.”
