Trump was present at the Texas versus Tennessee college football game on Saturday, September 26, when the ESPN broadcast encountered technical difficulties.

A fan observed that as ESPN debated potential communication problems caused by President Trump’s presence, the broadcast suffered noticeable audio static.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian told reporters on Thursday, September 24, that Trump’s comings and goings could impair communications during the game.

Sarkisian explained that whenever the president enters, exits, or moves within a stadium, all communications are disabled, including coach headsets and coach‑to‑player links.

The fan’s post on X, made before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, suggested Trump had arrived at the stadium early.

Sarkisian added that an early exit in the fourth quarter would instantly cut communication, recalling a similar incident when Mario Cristobal’s team lost connectivity during a late‑stage drive in last year’s national championship.
